spend your money wisely

The above title is too common, one could yawn till her jaws become swollen for three weeks when reading that phrase..so boring...
BUT, it means so much to every body. Money , or the lack of it is the root cause for a lot of hardships and problems on earth ever since we decided to move out of our villages and decide to work to earn money which can be used to buy essentials first, then the lavish 'unimportant for survival' things later.
I want to warn my fellow mrsm pioneer friends, especially myself not to do stupid things this year. Why? Because most if not all of us are turning 50 this year(I think a couple or so have indeed became half centurians over the last 8 days). Why 50? What's the big deal?
Because the first thing that come across our minds is to go to the EPF to withdraw our retirement money out and to spend.
OK, one can, or rather, should use the money to settle/reduce the high interest debts of his house, or can asset loans ,like ASB loans...
But no...some prefer to buy a new car..Why? Oh bila lagi I can own a BMW in this lifetime?..they say.
We forget that thanks to modern medicine, our lifespan is now averaging 70 to 75 years before one kicks the bucket. That means, at minimum, we need money to live for the next 20 years after turning 50.
What can one do with a beemer that would have no value after 20 years of service, and no money to buy food, shelter, and MEDICINE.
